Yeah its not bad to cut at all with a serrated knife. I was able to cut along patterns so It looks more natural to and the cuts arent that noticable. I will post a short video of my Moba Frontosa tank in a little while to show it with the background. I do have a small snail problem I am working on in it though lol.

I went with a 3D background from Universal Rocks in Texas... They are made from a similar material that Rhino Liner Truck beds are made from so they are Flexible and you can fold, bend or Roll them up to fit into your tank and they nbounce right back.

but they have real pieces of crushed rock embedded int he surface so you have to be careful installing them. They can scratch Glass let alone Acrylic. But look amazing when done...

here is mine.

Matiffman you are the man awesome just awesome
question for you guys??? if you had a choice and money and skills is not an issue, would you rather do a DIY 3d background or just buy it and be done with it?? TIA

Buy it and be done with it! I didn't have an extra tank to put fish in temporarily so I can empty the tank and silicone the flexible type background mastiff is talking about. So I opted for the very buoyant foam type also with a crushed rock coating so I can just wedge it in to the back and top brace of my acrylic tank. There might be some sense if pride if you DIY, but there's other factors to consider too.
