Default My Canary Cheek and Babies

So my fish have been breeding like rabbits and I was watching my biggest female breed for the second time since I got them from Greg. First time she gave me 12. I have three holding as of today. I've decided to sell the first 30 and try to acquire more wilds. After that, I will raise enough fry to make my colony be close to 80. We'll see. Well since I got these fish I've gotten 70 fry of which 40 have survived. 30 were lost in a power outage when I was away from home for two days. Here's a video of my babies. Thanks again for such healthy fish Greg.

That is one fat female fish...Nice fish...

Looks like you don't strip your female and just let her hold the fry until release? They look healthy.

I've let some females spit in the tank, some by accident and some intentional. Recently with my kalambo, one female was holding fry in her mouth for 6 weeks. The fry were too big to even strip. What I like to do is strip after two weeks or so and let them get some size. Then throw them back in with the adults. Brichardi fry turn more yellow when being raised with the adults. It's a fish by fish basis that makes me strip or allow them to spit. I'm not concerned with selling so I'll let nature take it's course from here on out.

I had one fish spit some fry out. Still not sure how many. I didn't realize she was holding though. That's why I say unintentional lol. I recovered 7 out of my tank when I was moving them to the new tank that the kalambo were in. With my kalambo I had I gave up on stripping because it was too many fish. They were spitting because I got tired of trying to catch them and fish at different stages makes it a little more challenging. I have been busy so the time I spend looking at them is limited to about ten minutes a day.
