Default So you say you change your water?

This is an anonymous poll. Your Identity is secret so please be honest.

I would like to know how often people are changing their water in their fully stocked adult tropheus tanks. I would also like to know the size of water change.

Please read the options carefully before answering.

Thanks

Also, feel free to explain your answers if you would like.
There are tons of ways to skin a cat and you may do something like travel all the time and have found that very light feedings and large water changes every 2.5 weeks works for you...Thats the stuff Id love to hear about.

As well as other methods people are doing such as very often changes...or very large.

Also,

I thought it would be cool if people noted how they determined if it was time for a water change.

As in "every Friday", "By eye", "water clarity", Fish behavior", "Breeding season", "vacation scheduled", "that weeks feedings" etc.

I voted 2 times a week 10 to 25% more like 30% though.

I was doing 50% once to twice a week but I kept getting a cloudy tank as discussed in one of my threads. Since going to the lesser amount my water has stayed crystal clear and the nitrates are 10 to 15 ppm. That being said I also cut back on feeding a bit, changes on Wednesday and Sunday unless I am going to a Seahawks game then I change Saturday night..

Let me preface it by saying I'm not a trophs owner yet, but on my frontosa tanks I change 50% a week. But with all my tanks I do a wc Saturday thru Wednesday. One tank a night.
