Default Blue spot goby question

I know this is not a tropheus but I also know a lot of you keep gobies as well. I had a wild caught pair that were producing fry, actually they were little machines and the female always passed the fry to the male after one week.

The problem is that I lost my male last week and the female is holding right now. Will she hold full term or should I strip her now? She looks miserable! They usually produce over thirty fry at a time.

Thanks for any help.

Mike

I'd strip her, grow those fry out and find a nice male to reproduce with her.

That depends on how long she's been holding. If they are past 10 days I would strip and tumble the rest. I would sell some fry and buy more gobies or at least one or two males and let her choose. Not all male and female pairs will actually pair up and breed.

Pulled 20+ wrigglers today along with 22 tropheus ikola fry. All of them are tumbling right now in with my red bulu fry. I know have 50+ blue spot goby fry in three different batches. Thanks for the advice guys.
