The substrate looks like cichlids sand. Very nice looking tank.

Thanks, it's pearl beach aragonite substrate. It's white but the second pic shows a little algae growth on it

Thanks mike these pics don't do the rainbows justice. Ill get better pics soon. The dominate males already have bright blue dorsal fins

Just starting to realize how difficult it is to get pictures of trophs! They will not stay still so I keep getting blurry pics lol. Here are a few crappy camera phone pics for now, hoping to get my real camera back soon.

Any one have experience with pearl beach aragonite substrate? This is my first time using it and I am a little disappointed. Algae grows on it like no other substrate I have ever had before. Starting to be a pain!
