Your first post said that the tank isn't drilled, so I was basing my comments on that. If you can get your tank drilled, then that would be the best option if you want to run a sump. Get two 2" holes near the surface and an overflow box siliconed in and you are all set. It's fairly quiet, but like others have said, for true silence you'll have to go with a cannister for total silence.

If you don't like FX5s then you'll have to go Eheim, which as others have said are having issues now. Good luck

I said that the tank isn't drilled because I didn't planned to make a sump. Probablly I will choose canisters .

So the finall and most important question - for 200 gal tank eheim 2078+eheim 2180 + 2x tunze 6025 is enough to saturate water with oxygen or not ?

Save yourself some trouble and go with 2262's. They are reliable and will last you for years.

I do not want to see any heater in the tank , so 2180 is a must I think.

i'm on my sencond 2180 and hostly they are not that awsome. i have on my 125g a eheim 2180 eheim 2178 and it wasnt enought to get crystal clear water. it is a petro tank so they are dirty fish. but those filters dont pump that much water. remeber the stats you are seing are empty filters once you put in sponges and media the fitration goes down. if you running a 200G tank i would say put 3 2180s. and the heater isnt tha awsome either its supposable 500w but it wastn enought to keep my 125g tank at 80F in the inter i had to put an additionaal heaters in side the tank.

Totally agree! 2080/2180s are a waste of time on tanks larger than 100gals. Go with eheim 2260/62 and use an inline heater if you're so hung-up about seeing a heater in the tank

what is a complete height of stand needed for eheim 2262 ? Beause mine is 60 cm height.

I found that eheim 2260 is 57 cm height, but if I will swich to 2262 pump , it will still be 57 cm ? Also 57 cm is with output hose connected or w/o the hose ?

It is exactly the same filter, just different pump. Size dimensions are exactly the same.

You can also modify the 2262 so that the pump sits sideways, giving you more room to play with. I would suggest two 2262's on your tank. I have a 210 with a 2262 and two 2217's, I would like to replace the 2217's with another 2262 at some point. P.S, the only problems I have heard with Eheims, are with the newer types. No problems with the classics that I know of. I wouldn't use any other type of cannister personally.

Thanks everyone,

Probably I will try one 2262 instead of 2078 and 2180. Maybe someone know any link with recomendations for best media to eheim 2262 ( mostly for mechanical and some bio ) filtration ?

Also , the sound of eheim 2262 is same as fx5 or much louder ?
