BD,

lovin the new big screen (fish tank

i am wondering what you are using for filtration on that bad boy. *Looks like you could have a sump behind it in the corner but the rocks/ background do a great job of hiding equip.

thanks a lot.i am gonna put 2 150 w metal halides on the tank in the future. then i am def gonna add more root. for now more root would block out to much light. i don't mind the shadow in the middle of the tank right now. the way i set it up there is a spot on the left and right for each foai male to dig a bower and i don't wanna take any light away from them. i have also noticed a big difference in all of the fishes behavior in the tank since i added the spider root. they all come out way more and are not nearly as skidish.

thanks man. i went back and forth on the filtration. the tank is not drilled but i could have drilled it easily enough. but there is no where to put the sump. it can't go behind the tank becasue there is no way to to get to it. couldn't go on the sides, no room. i almost put it in the crawl space under the tank and plumb thru the floor. i have a set up very similar to this i did for a customer. except he had a finished basement. so having only a crawl space i decided against that. i settled on 2 rena xp 4's that sit on each side. i also have a power head in each corner to provide some cross flow and 2 airstones to put some oxygen in the water.

I wish I had a tank like that in MY livingroom.

BTW - That is a 3D background, the natural kind.

I love the root, and you will love metal halides over them!! I have metal halides on any big tank I have because I absolutely love the lighting it gives.

WOW, this forum is just like my 3rd gen WRX forum. Difference of oppinions are always going to be viewed differently. Bottom line we do what we want in our hobbies because its not what makes others happy, but what makes happy counts.

The tank looks awesome. I see you have some Lamprologus multifasciatus shellies, is this the only shell dweller your going with? I know i want a shell dweller colony some day. They are an interesting fish, them and the sand dwellers. Great set-up!!!

-Chris

**EDIT** P.S. Whats your stocklist at the momment?[/b]
thanks man. i have brevis and occie gold in the tank. very, very interesting little fish. stocklist at the moment is as follows:
1 pair foai kafyoka
1 pair foai mboka
10 brevis
20 occie gold
8 lelupi orange
10 Neolamprologus mustax orange
20 Cyp. Kitumba

still gonna add:
20 cyp. kitumba
2m 3f firefin comp.

[/b][/quote]

I see your stocklist and have a few questions. Are you planning to cut down on the no. of Shell Dwellers after a while? 30 is quiet a lot. Why you are keeping Leleupi and Mustax together? They both look very similar and are closely related.
What are the dimensions of the tank? It looks higher than usual but what about the base?
