Default Need a final answer on Kiriza's.

My buddy recently purchased a colony of Kiriza. They are all looking good but theres one thing... There are a few in the mix that are very orange. Its not super bright because they are a bit down the line from dominate but are very clearly orange. And the dominate male in the tank is super bright yellow with a hit of bright orange on the dorsal fin. Ive read in certain forums and seen on certain youtube vids that after a few generations from W/C that Kirizas can become orange in color and this is totally normal. Is this true or is there a fairly high change of xbreeding somewhere down the line?

I've seen videos of Kiriza where some looked orange. That old Tampa Bay Buccaners orange. I kept them years ago, but mine all had yellow bands.

Didn't Skuzzlebutt have TV's Brent Musburger for a leg at one time.

This might be the video, the guy who posted the video had this to say about the orange colors, "No there are not any bembas in the tank. Its only Kirizas and itīs the males that shows the orange color". -

A quick read in the Tropheus Aqualog African Cichlids II Pg.41 says " There are slight colour variations within the relatively large distribution, noticeable in the intensity of the band. Individuals in the southern part of the range (Ubwari peninsula) have an orange reticulation in the lower part of the band".
