Tropheus duboisi maswa - Finally getting my master group of maswa together! This duboisi is at risk in Lake Tanganyika due to over collection. Hit HD!

What differences, if any, do you notice between true maswa and helmbe?

Thanks for sharing!

John,

Maswa and Halembe are considered the same group/population.

I can't tell any difference, sometimes I think in the right light these maswa might be a little more yellow, but then the next time I look at them I don't see it.

The main difference between my two groups is size, the halembe are larger. That could be because some are wild. The Maswa's are tank raised.

Cichlid Power!
Pam

I just feel like I finally have a nice size group going! It took a while! I also just moved these from a 100 gal tank to a 135 gal and that always makes your group look bigger too!

Looks great Pam! Makes me want to raise up a bunch of my F1 Duboisi Maswa fry and grow them out instead!

Very nice looking colony, I am searching to purchase a group of F-1s. There is just something about them that I find amazing, Many are keeping Dubs but not Maswa's, Or the ones they keep the yellow does not standout like it should.

Let me know if you have fry that you are looking to sell. You have a very nice group.

Kurt
