Default Juvie colors

Ok so out of my 12 new Mpulungu I have 10 that all seem the same colours. I notice a nice red fin on top and an overall lightish great with spots and stripes, and a yellowish hue. But I have 2 that are very dark. Does personality or aggression change them that much?? They seem darker and the blue is brighter. Maybe younger?

I'm gonna bring my camera back from the lake this weekend. They have a red line along the top of the fin. I'll do my best to get some decent shots.

Your videos are amazing!!

I posted a short video. If you look very carefully u will notice the red on a few of them. Hard to catch them as they are so quick..

Ok since I posted last time my fish are two months older..and I still have yellow with red fin fish! Only 5 out of 10. I know I definitely have 3 males because they are almost black with a yellow sunspot appearing and they are larger and very bossy.
But are the smaller yellow with red females or a different kind?

Be patient they are still very young. Just like dogs are still puppies until 2 years it's similar with trophs they are still juvies until at least a year...

I have juvie dubs and Bulu point, got them in March and they are still in that awkward stage. The more dominant ones are like 75% colored up and rest are showing juvie colors or somewhere in between. Some of the dubs are fully spotted, not even a hint of adult coloration and they 2.5 inches and 8 months old. So yeah, patience...
