Some Brichardi species might work. But I wouldn't do more than three species in a tank. I would do different fish altogether. Add some petros.

Personally, I wouldn't do more than 2 types, even in a tank that size. If I were you, I would keep your ilangi, and find yourself some petros. Trophs seem to do best in a single colony, but 2 types is doable, but 4 is pushing it with the risk of crossing.

I really thought or hoping I can put atleast 4 types Tropheus. Does anybody here have the ilangi and duboisi in their set up? Also beside chyps and xeno, is there any other fish compatible with trophs?

I think you should start by listing the trophs you actually want to keep together. There are so many variants out there that can work but who says you will be able to get them? I know people who keep same species together and they cross breed but they don't sell the fry so you really can do whatever you want if you don't plan on selling fry.

It's always a hobby of mine, never to make profit. But it wouldn't hurt if I can sell some frys in the future so I can expand and keep on supporting this hobby. And I was never a big fan of crossbreeding. If the risk are there that they can crossbreed, then I will have to put just one type of Tropheus, and that will be my ilangi. That's why I want to ask you guru's out there before I start the setup.

Dude, you'd be practically crazy for not adding petros to that setup!

So you don't think the Ikola and ilangi would crossbreed. If so that's great.
