I don't know. If they were truly a new race of Ikola, you would think somebody would be trying to make a lot of money off them.
Maybe Ikola line bred for more yellow, similar to the Golden Kiriza? Are the tails really any different other than lighter in color? |

![]() Probably it's how the picture was taken or the re-sizing, but these fish appear to have the shape of Red Zebra(mbuna) rather than Tropheus. |

I´m shure this is a ikola line breed, The strach where the ikola is cauth has been dived on intens, and studied carefully if this fish was wild it would have in trade long time ago.
In nature u will find some fish with yello to the roud of the tail if u keep cross/inbreeding them eventuley they will come out like that. Did any one say DR. [/b][/quote] Ikola have been around since the beginning of time(Troph keeping!), law of averages would suggest at least a few would have been caught long before now and the poster also suggested that they were being 'bred' in Africa,, so experimentation!!?? ![]() I believe breeders are starting to mess around with Tropheus just as they did with peacocks(aulonocara), so I'm a bit sceptical of the 'all of sudden' discovery of new found species. I have 40 Lufubu and I'm just as uncertain about their origins. To be honest, it's quite unsettling, as I'm not one for hybrids, others maybe but definitely not my thing. |
