I like and actually have a decent size colony of wide band. I just love the way they look. If I wanted narrow band I would've gone with kiriza kaiser

I prefer Kiriza over ikola so I would say thin band.

I actually like the Kiriza better too, but when it comes to the Ikola I think the wider band looks better. They are different fish with a different yellow, are probably different species, so I have a different preference on the band width. Lol

I had no idea there was an option. I thought Ikola were Ikola. Is it just a variation in the fish? Can you have a colony that some have a wide band, and some have a narrow band?

I like the most the narrow band...To me look more beautiful than the wider band.
Even I have never seen them in person. I own a colony of wider band.

The Map that came with the Aqualog says that they are two populations but the Book doesn't mention this.

I had never noticed this. Looks like I'm going to have to dog out the book and have a look. I have never heard of anybody refering to them as either wide or narrow Ikola before this thread.

The OP was probably referring to the kiriza and the ikola kaiser I, or i might be wrong. I myself have never heard about these different in the band. from wide to wider
