I think one way to look at this is to google how many pictures and information you can find of hat specific species.
Take Namansi Reef, for example, and google it. There are only about 10 sites with any information (or at least a picture). Then you will also notice that it's the same pictures over and over again. The only "new" pictures are on this site which have been posted by Kristian, TTT or myself (for now). Also, considering rare = WC, then only the Brichardi, Annectens, some Species Black, and Duboisi will fit the bill.

The fish (cichlid-since there are no others  ) scene here in ATL is pathetic, with a capital shyte.
Everything is rare out here. Even common species like julidochromis. Or decent mbuna (if you think any of those can be had). The only trophs I've seen are at a PetSmart and those were their "guppy mill" dubs and only 3 of them at that. 35 bux each. They all died (at the store) Gimme a break. The small numbers of LFS are dwindling even more as they close up. Very sad, good selection of cichlids or not. So EVERY variant is rare on that list out here. Good thing Athens isn't far away. So, like MJ says, rareness is relative. To where you live and who you know and if you can get to the ACA auctions. But with internet, you can order your stock on line thus making the world a smaller place. JJ. |

What about the true Lufubu?
That's a tough fish to get your hands on and the least common of the fish so far named on this thread in the last few years. |
