Default Lighting help, please

Totally confused about lighting on my 6 ft. tank. I want to get the Current Satellite Plus, but don't think I can. Top of tank has two braces that divide the glass into three sections. I was thinking of maybe putting 3 18" Currents on them, but can't really figure out if this is right. Will it create too much heat on glass? What about the depth of tank which is 18"? Then there is the remote control with Current. Will I have to use three controls everyday?
Pretty sure Satellite is out. Can anyone suggest a good light that I will be able to place on these three sections? I don't want to use one long light because some of it will be over the plastic braces.

Hope I made sense.
Thank you
Cricket

There's a could of ways to do this.

You could get 2 3ft Sat plus fixtures and hang them above the tank by about 6" for optimal coverage, front to back. So you would find or make 3-4 brackets that come from behind the tank that are attached to the stand and then shoot out about 9" over the middle of the top of the tank.

Then just place both sensors right by each other and you would only have to use one remote to turn them on and be adjusted at the same time. I've done this successfully before on my 180g.

These lights, using little electricity, don't generate much heat. So no worries if you wanted to set them on your glass tops. it would be just fine.

If you wanted to go with 3 fixtures, get 3x 2ft fixtures. You might have to set the middle fixture a bit in front of the two outer ones.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,

Want to thank you for your help. Always can count on you. I am probably the least handy in doing anything, but plugging things into the wall.
I am going to go for three Satellite freshwater plus. The newest Satellite pro plus with the timer is too pricey at this time.

Thank you again,
Cricket
