those dims are very nice for trophs.
they will love it mane.
you can still add a sump and not necessarily drill holes in your tank, if you decide to ad a sump.
your good in how your tank was built.
I have a euro brace and it does support more than traditional.
if you want more support and a cheaper way, you can always add:
(4 or 8) 2" to 2.5" wide x 30" long x .25" thick glass on each corner and silicone it upright / vertical / 30" up and down on each corner.
If you go 4 glass supports then silicone the 2" min glass joints with the width on the side glass / the thickness should be touching the front / back longest glass.
if you go x8 - 2"min glass than you can just silicone them on the corners and set it and forget it lol.

Thats if you want more support, forgiving on the pocket and less on being labor intensive.

Man, you are making me drool with this build as I love to design, engineer things and build myself.

Thanks and please keep the info and pics coming mane.
Giving me more ideas bubba.
Great job thus far

Thanks for all the help from you guys, my 2 fx5's are now in Thailand. And when I get home from offshore next week the carpenter is coming round to start the build. I will add 2 x mp40 wave makers, probably next month.

Going back to the Stand i'm getting built, what type of varnish should i use on it, i dont want to end up poisoning the fish.

Also stocking levels, how many trophs?

Awesome.
When I built my stand I went to the local hardware store (Lowes) and tried out stains until the Warden (wifey) made me get what she wanted. Bombay Mahogany 420. I also bought extra polish for the wet look and if there was a leak, it would protect the wood. Good thing I did so as I did get a leak on my tank and 190 gallons on the floor.
I staind and polish all the wood inside and out.
Go to the local store and try them out under lights, w/o lights, under led lights.
I took an led flashlight and shined it on the few staind pieces i wanted to look at.
As far as stocking levels, you will get many opinions here.
Just stock as many as you want and whatever variants you want to have.
Just be wary on the variants that are closer to each other so no crossbreeding happens.
Keep the updates coming.

Frankie, I appreciate your input, i'm not so concerned with colour, i have a light wooden table in the living room, so want the colour to match that as much as possible. I'm more concerned that i will use a varnish that will leach off into the tank and poison the fish.
