They can but it's not a good idea if you plan on breeding them as it's always possible for them to cross breed.

Some even think that it's possible for the milt from one variant to contaminate the spawning area of another variant in the tank with enough circulation. I've not come across this myself but I'm also not one to throw around the word impossible.

So better safe than sorry if you want to breed them. if no breeding and selling of fry is planned. Mix it up with whatever you want IMO.
