Default Breeding near siphon

These guys are a trip, is this normal for Trophs to breed in the middle of the tank?

If the reat if the colony is respectful enough or scared enough to stay away the alpha will spawn wherever he can entice the current female to follow him too. Typically though they choose a more covered area.

Can't see the pic. Now you got me interested! My F1 Chaitika's were on the back glass just above the sponge filter, I know they like a little bit of an angle but vertical?

Updated the pic. I've only seen Tropheus dirty dancing on the floor of the tank or on rocks but never in the middle of the tank. (Maybe the siphon counts as a rock surface?)

Sweet. That's just what my Chaitika's were doing except it was just above the sponge filter. I see there is a creeper just above the Koralia. Does that male dominate that side of the tank? Good looking fish too!

So I got a little anxious and stripped one of the females a bit to early it seems, the fry are not all fully formed (but are wiggling around) with the yolk not all the way soaked up. Do I need a tumbler or will they be ok in one of my Tupperware setups?

UPDATE! My wife raced to the local store and got me some Tupperware. They seem to be doing well!

First strip for this group, starting to get the hang of it. Must be something in the water, my Ikola gave me 11 and now this with the Moops.
