Default ID Pls - Bemba?

Hi,

I need help IDing my tropheus please? The guy at the store just said they were Tropheus bemba.

I got 20pcs but 2 of them are a different color, i think they are probably the same type but maybe something wrong with them.

Thats the problem with some stores, crosss breeding etc...., its awfully yellow for a Pemba orange flame at that size, looks like 1.5-2"? May be cross breed or Kiriza mixed in with them, are the others orange?

Yep 1.5-2"

All 18 are similar except for the 2 brighter ones, they are pale yellow.

If they are Bemba, their bands will eventually turn orange. I have some Bemba juvies that look like your pictures. They are about 1.5". Where did you buy your fish?

A tiny fish shop in Bahrain, that's where i live. I am sure they get their fish from somewhere in Asia. Will check next time.

I have some fish that look to be the same as yours. I bought them under the name of double yellow banded. they also had double banded red. they grow into a very pretty fish as the yellow fills out and become very bright. There are 8-10 shop here in mid Ill. caring them all the time. they have been for about 9 months now.
