this OB morph is a freak of nature (what morphs usually are). they are rare in the lake and somehow don't have a big reproduction rate in tanks as other trophs do. and not every offspring turns out to be an OB.

Ok time for an update I guess LOL. The Kalambo have really hit a spurt since my last update. Most of them are 3-3.5 inches now. The first female has now spawned with the Golden male but nothing came of it. But lots of shaking is going on and I expect fry will start to come soon. These guys have really grown and have filled this 210 up. I am going to move the group of 80 Kalambo into an 8 ft 240 soon to give them more room. I started out with the 1 male golden which had just started to change when I got the group. He has progressed nicely since I got them. And there is a Golden forming from the 3.5 inch fish. There are another 3 that I believe are showing signs of turning into goldens and then another 3 that are spotting up that I believe will be OB. So its been exciting to watch the mutations begin and hope I end up with a good group of goldens and OB's. Here are 2 videos of the group.
