I as well purchased 9 WC Kalambo from Greg and would like to get a few more to add. They are beautiful, active, spawning, and eating very well. Thanks Greg for all you do!

Good luck with raising the fry!

Some from the first batch. These are now in a grow out 40B.

Some more that are about a week younger. About to be added to the rest in the 40B below.

How I have the little nursery tucked in between the AC 110 and a hood from a 30 gal. Water does not go in through the top. Only circulates around and through the container through its holes drilled in the sides. This is set up on the grow out tank.

8 more in the tubling tank with all the Ikola.

This group has produced around 50 fry in the first 2 months of having them and I have three more females currently holding.

They have turned out to be a very fun group to work with for sure.

Take care,
John

Yeah rick, I replaced some 30's, that I was planning on using as growout tanks, with with 40B's.

The hoods from the 30s are the same length as the 40's but are not as wide. So I just put them on there because I wanted something to hold a light strip up. I went in the kitchen to rob a Tupperware and found that one that wedged tightly in there. So I can target feed them until they are a little bit bigger than spit size...then just dump them into the tank below with the others when I have some new ones that need to go in the Tupperware. As I produce more I think I could row out at least 4 of those containers along the back of a tank...or maybey find a rectangular one that is wider but still wedges...so I can bump the fry up in stages. Its crude but it works and I think its great because it puts a lot of circulation right around the container and I was able to adjust the amount of flow through the container by the number and location of the holes in its sides. I think the high flow is helping them grow quick and be sturdy little dudes.

I just added the java moss in there recently. I found that it makes them a little less "darty" and when I sprinkle the fine crushed flake food in there it gets caught in it and the little guys pick through it and kinda graze.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
I have some other groups going and Ill make some posts about those soon.

Thanks! I haven't ever seen them in the trade either. Just a FYI in case you didn't see it.....I put an ad in the classifieds section. The first batch of fry will be ready in a couple weeks with more right behind them.
