Default What size fry are safe to ship?

I would like to know of other peoples experiences buying small fry.

I bought12 F1 RR fry in Australia when I lived there. They were sold as 1 - 1.5". When they arrived they were 0.5 - 0.75". I lost 6 in the first few days cause they were so stressed from the move. Disappointing to say the least.

What have others experienced here on Troph's when receiving fish 0.5 - 0.75" in size?

Cheers community people!

Danny

I have had 21 F2 Dubs Maswa shipped via 2day usps that same size and had no issues. It was packaged well the temp and water parameters they came in where perfect. Im sure there a lot of variables that can alter your outcome. Shipping/packaging... Temps... Carrier/Handling... Quality/Health of fish etc...

Was it from the nose to the base of the tail or to the end of the tail. Seems like quite a few people dont into account the length of the tail.

The whole fish nose to the end of the tail was the size of a dime more or less for example.

I had the same issue with .5" fry. Different species and different seller but same result. I will only buy ones from now on that I know are at in the 1.5" area.

Thx for replying mate. I thought there were others out there. Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

I think waiting until fry are bigger is better for the customer and safer for the fish. That is my opinion also. I too will not buy until fry until they're 1.25"+.

sometimes sellers are more concerned about cash rather then health of the fish. Sad day.
