I had some F1 Ikola juvies delivered last week, Brilliant quality, Really happy with them. They are 1 - 1.5 inches at the mo and i was just wondering when they will show their full colour? Here the pic of the alpha male so far, All the others are duller as he's the boss (For now)

Will it be safe to keep Kasanga red rainbow with the above Ikola? I'm thinking of getting some wild caught red rainbows to put in my tank, But not sure if they'll cross breed

I keep Ikola with Kasanga Red Rainbow and have never had an issue with coss breeding - they show no interest in each other. Of course with two types in the tank, one will be more dominant over the other and the submissive type will not breed that well.

I find that Ikola reach their best colors when in the 3 -3.5" size or larger.

Mine took like 8 months to fully color up at 3-3.25inches. Also got them in that size1.1.25

Just keep the tank clean and feed them quality food

Tank filtration is good (2 x fluval fx5 filters on the 6.6ft tank), I do 50% water change eveyweek, They are fed on spirulina flake and sometime new era cichlid green pellets, I'll also chuck in cucumber and lettuce once a week too.
