Do a search - this topic has come up before (but I'm pretty sure it was several years ago). Also check ad Ad's new book if you have it on page 99. It is mentioned as a species black near Cape Banza and Muzimu. Mainly black with a small yellow patch on the upper flank and possibly yellow patches on the head. IMO, similar to Caramba but yellow instead of red.

From what I understand, there are two types.
A brichardi.( I know someone that may have these ![]() And one that appears to be Sp. Black. Some also call the sp. black one "Mboko" I "think." The Sp. black one looks like a bland lueba. I "think". But with Muzimus just starting to come into the country...and with Greg being the only one in the USA with a Lueba colony...I haven't been able to compare the two. well Spencer Jack was selling these as Tropheus Brichardi "Muzimu" and I have seen them listed as the same in several other places.
Thanks for the info and I agree if they all looked like the ones in the picture they are a bloody gorgeous fish. |
