Default Sp Black Caramba consistency

A troph i have seen in one tank looking AMAZING, but in other tanks looking drab is the Sp Black Karamba, or Caramba (not the red bishop 'creation'). Does anyone who has the aqualog know if there are variants from different regions? It seems to be a hit-or-miss troph...or does anyone have these? Here is a pic link

I had a group not too long ago. They remind me of the Lueba with the inconsistent patches. But they are nice looking. They have blue eyes in some, red on others. Red patches on top, red triangles like the Lueba, but then some have red or orange heads. Cool Troph Id keep again. They breed like rabbits too!

There is a lot of variation in the pattern/patches, some are small spots some are larger and some never show any spots/patches. But generally speaking they get red markings around the head area. Other then that they are your typical Tropheus sp. black. They are found in Cape Caramba, some people spell it Karamba but it is the same area.

Cichlid Power!

I had a small group of 12 and just loved their personality and colors. Daytime they were mainly black with their bright red patches. If I'd go down to my fish room in the middle of the night and just turned on the room light the black turned into more of a reddish color.
And yes, there was a girl holding all the time!

Ogrodii, thanks for the spawning Caramba vid!

Andrew, my friend thank you...i've been expressing to some how this can be more than a hobby, but added meaning to life, and that we completely fulfill our potentials as tang keepers.

And now for the best mixed troph vid ever imo, Hassan has 5 Caramba mixed in w moliros and other trophs, amazing....

Thats AWESOME.

He could use some Maswa and Real Nice Blue Rainbows in that tank! It would then be a perfect mix!

thanks for sharing!
