Default Altolomaprologus Black "Ink Fin" Calvus fry from F1 Pair

Just wanted to share a video of the second brood from this pair.

First brood was a learning lesson and this time should be successful. Took some advice from a few people (you know who you are) and built up a knowledge base to hopefully have a successful attempt at raising these fry up to appropriate size.

It's not much of an exciting video but they are shown eating fresh baby brine shrimp.

Enjoy. Questions and comments always welcome!

Cool! I am raising about 30 fry from my wild pair of Black Calvus White Pearl. They grow soooooo slowly.

Nice. I grow out my black calvus in a 10 g barebottom with a sponge filter. Easier to clean the aquarium.

Miss the fellows...The frys take an eternity to grow...but yeah...I'll share some pics of my Old WC black Congo that i had purchased from Alison over a year ago.

Male

Female

Very nice!

Here is the trio when I first got them.... Unfortunately I lost the first female.... She was evicted out of the tank when I put the Dom female back in...

Those are some nice fish. Seems like the females look better than the males. I have a friend growing some. His grew about an inch every four or five months. I now understand why they are so appreciated at adulthood.

Cool Trio! I had 2 pairs of the black congo in a 90g with other tangs. The Dom male in the pic ended up with 2 females, and the other Male was pushed away. The females did fought for the dom male to breed, what saved them was the 3 large spiral conch i had for them. I had monthly frys from both, the dom was a pimp lol.

I swore I'd never get any calvus again after raising a few broods, but seeing those pics makes me want to get some again!! They look great!!

I love the look of a huge male calvus!!
