treat the tank 250mg per 10 gallons every 8 hours or at least two times a day for five to seven days. Do not feed them anything for at least one week. I also cover the tank for the first couple of days of treatment. Do a water change after the third day and another on the 6th day. Sometimes you can simply stop feeding for a few days when you see the white feces and they will not develop bloat. Good luck and please keep me posted. Mike

That was the Metronidazole " regiment " I followed from Mike. It works for him and it has worked for me more then once now.

Glad to hear that you finally got your moops. Rough start, but glad they pulled through for you and producing fry.

Mike is a great resource person, I got my moops from Mike, and even though they're still sub adults, a couple of females regularly produces fry for me. If I had spare tanks, I'd keep Mike busy bagging fish early in the mornings.

Just to update everyone, fry look good. Im going to try leaving them in the tank because the one fry nearly killed the other in the breeder basket I have so theyre free now. Im moving to a new house in a few days so I need to try and figure out how to move the tanks, cool part is someone left me a really nice 6 footer in the new house with the stand tank and light so that should be cool.
