Moops seem to have a nice orange tint to the "sunspot" on their flank. The sunspot Iv seen on my Kalambo's is a more golden yellow. Iv seen some Kalambo pics where it looked more lemon yellow but mine are definatly more of a deep gold color. not orange. Not yellow.

But if you were to mix them...it might be hard to tell them apart because they look so similar.

No it wouldn't be hard I don't think. Moops have more of a blue head where as Kalambo are more green. Plus the difference in the spot. I have had a few groups of Moops now and I have seen Kalambo for the first time a few days ago and they are surprisingly different.

Yeah, I have a science experiment kind of brain. I want to keep a set of moops in a tanks beside the Kalambos.

The kalambos are nice and I love the moops as well.

How big did your moops eventually get? and did the spot get nicer as they pushed past the 3.5-4in mark towards the five inch mark? if yours got that big. Or did it develop at an early age and only get a bit nicer then stop..like did it top out at a certain size and then the fish just continued to grow?

I just have the kalambos and have some at 3'' all the way to 5''. Some of the threes looks nicer than the rest and didn't know if I should expect there spot to keep getting bigger or were they pretty much done.

First time with kalambos and Iv never personally had moops
