Don't I wish..lol. everyone here knows my tanks sit on cylinder blocks. Not my tank, just
a video I found on YouTube. ;-)

ps.
I did have Duboisi at one point, (they're now with my in laws, avatar) and the actinic lighting was great with them, although mine were 50/50. I have the black background on the tank they were in. The next tank will hopefully have a blue background. (or green)

Gotcha.

If you're interested in building a cheap, very sturdy, nice looking stand, let me know...I built one and can post a link to the build. You can leave it basic, or make it somewhat furniture grade, like I did. I got the idea from a guy on another forum.

My fishroom is the front room of my home (meant to be a formal dining room), so I had to promise the better-half I'd make them (the aquariums) look nice...so, unfortunately no cinder block stands for me. They are very functional though, I've used them in the past.

We all know your tanks are on blocks, but can you remind us why your Dubs are at your inlaws. I think it was because you wanted some Ikola and Red Rainbows.

Well yes and no, long story made short.... I lost my Father in laws Dubs (that I purchased for him) on some freak accident and the very next day shuffled my Dubs to his empty tank, which left me with an empty tank.... all with BLACK backgrounds. (which would be nice if they were blue) So yes I have Ikola, KAsanga and Petro Moshi juveniles now. (Would love to have more)!

I prefer the blue myself in medium to light tones, I think it reminds me of the deep sea. Always was very attracted to that.

I like the construction paper ideal as I set up a tank a couple years ago and forgot to do the background I used light blue construction paper. Been on it all this time. Lol.
All my tanks are black but the 1.

I've had both blue and black and definitely feel the black makes the fish and the tank look better...IMO
