Default Kalambo fry or Bemba fry? What should I do?

I got 24 Kalambo juvies from the local keeper in January.
They are doing really great ( I have not lost any yet) and now between 1.5 -2.5 inches.

As they grow, I noticed that one fry looks different than other fry. I looked up many images on Google and it somehow looks like bemba fry. I will post the pictures when I figure out how

Can one fry look different than others if it is smaller than others?

If it is the bemba fry, will it be a problem if I remove the fry?

I'd leave it until they're adults...no harm there...does the breeder you bought the kalambo from breed bemba also? It really is too early to tell. They look nice though...keep us posted as they mature

thanks dannyt!! yeah I think he had bemba.

the only reason that I ask this is that everyone who looks at my tank points at this fry and saying " this looks different than others"..

I would like to remove/sell it if it's indeed bemba as I only want kalambos..

If he had bemba I would tend to agree then also...when I raised bemba in Australia their band did start to appear at about 1.25" and extended up onto the dorsal like the one you have there...

it's definitely a no no to raise troph moori fry together in the same grow out tank...they are virtually impossible to tell apart at that size...of course if they are in a divided tank or in tanks right next one another it is possible for them to jump across if the tops are open...

all the best mate!

so should I remove him or her from the tank now?
should I leave it until he/she is adult?

I would still leave it just in case we're wrong. Introducing it back in after removing would put it in danger if it turns out to be a huge sunspot! Make it so!

Definitely not a Moorii and does look like a Pemba!

It would be okay to leave it if you have nowhere to put it....

I don't have any tank for this guy/gal... I'm thinking of giving/selling it to another bemba owners.. I'm worried about disturbing my group if I remove this one and cross-breeding..

How close is the breeder you bought them from? You could take the Pemba back and swap it for another Kalambo since it was the sellers error...

I just realized reading Andrews post that I made an error in my earlier post suggesting Pemba and Kalambo were both Moorii. Thx Drew, of course Pemba are species black. My bad sorry crew
