I just ordered an Eheim ultra g160 for my 75. The hold a ton of media. Dr Fosters and Smith has the best deal on them.

I do like that Eheim. Overstock.com had the fx5 for 230 bucks but they were sold out

Keep your eyes peeled, I picked up a barely used, fully loaded Eheim 2262 for $200.00 CDN.

I guess I'm the only one who uses Marineland Canisters. I have two HOT Magnum 250's and a 350. 1-250 on my 55gl. one on my 150gl with a C530 as primary and I just love the performance of the Marineland. the C530 is unreal my 150gl is crystal clear and the 4 different media trays is awesome and easily changed. no lack of water circulation that is for sure, with the included 1.25" ID tubes. Dr. Fosters & Smiths has them cheaper than any retail outlet buy almost 100.00. However I'm always open to new products if someone can educate me on Ehiem vs. Marineland

The reason I have stayed away from Mairneland is because to my understanding the water hits the impeller before the filtration so it is a lot easier to get sand in the impellers

Interesting tidbit. I'll have to look into that one. I have always used marineland since the early 80's, and still have my original 350 floor unit and have never replaced anything on it but two gaskets. I also use pre-filter sponges on the intakes to prolong the life cycle of the internals and prevent sand and those MTS from getting inside.

Yea I just have never liked Marineland products, My 75 is a marineland and I cant stand it. So I guess I am somewhat biased.
