Default Tropheus Ikola

Sorry about the crummy pics. There's about 30 of them and they are breeding very nicely for me.

welcome to trophs.com.. Great looking ikolas. I notice that your water circulation is pretty high. Could you please share your tank and filteration details ?

125 gal tank with 3200 GPH powerhead and (2) Emperor 400's along with a Magnum 350 I put on to polish the water. You can never have enough filtration with trophs as they thrive on good clean water. I also like lots of surfafce agitation in the tank which is provided by the 3200GPH powerhead aimed at the surface.

My intent is to raise a bunch of fry from them and create a new massive colony of around 75+ fish.

Gotcha. Love that Yellow in them! They do great with brighter bulbs as well. Something in the 12k-18k range makes them POP! They will also Display well when rocks are added, from my experience. But then again I've nver let mine stay without rocks for more than a day or two...

Sounds like you will have a Large display colony. Can't wait to watch it grow! Do you have plans on a larger tank?
