FTS one with tank lights and one with speedlites firing above to see what effect I could get. Then a fish photo and a headshot. I'm done editing for tonight, I may put more up tomorrow.

I think my ball head was unlevel here...LOL oh well.

I kept the crop fairly large so you could appreciate it more, hope I don't blow up people's computers. Those viewing on a smart phone don't stand a chance.

So it's been a while. Actually, and admittedly I have tried to sell this group on multiple occasions without success (don't ship, probably the reason). Had a few buyers back out and every time I do I get waves of second thoughts. Trying to limit my tanks while still keeping fish I want. So it's a juggle and sometimes a sacrifice. Would like to get back into Discus though, at least eventually, my roots. Still not sure what I want to do. So until a buyer comes forward and makes me an offer I cannot refuse they will reside with me healthy and happily!

As a general update I see them dancing every day but I think my colony is to large to actually make it to viable fry stage. I never weeded it down like I said I would. Almost scared to now? Everytime the dance happens it's either interrupted or the suspected males dart off distracted by another. Think I'm right in assuming the colony is to large? I'm at around 35 or 36 fish in a 100gal tank but have had zero deaths to other fish (just a few carpet surfers) and minimal nipped fins. Anyway here are some quick dirty photos.

Keep in mind, this may be the same fish in every photo not real sure.....these things are super fast.

And here is my favorite, I think this one may end up being printed.

Here is a nice little morph for you from right after I got them to now. May not be the same fish but just general appearance change.

Nice fish and great photos. Trophs are tough to photograph.

I know what you mean about how they start breeding and get interrupted. That happened to my red rainbow group and I eventually got tired of it and sold them.

I would like to get back into discus as well, but the water changes turn me off. There is just no way around those daily water changes.

Great pics! My Rainbows have done the same thing, they do the dance but I have not had a new batch of fry in quite awhile. The originals are close to 7 or 8 years old now, still plenty of teens and juvis though. I should probably be looking for some new blood for the tank, but I have had not even a hint of bloat so not sure I want to bring any in. The only deaths like mentioned, have been suicide fish jumping out somehow.

Nothing sadder than a dead fish Unless it's a big salmon fresh out of the river
