Default Got lucky

None of you may not have noticed but the Pac n,west got hit with 60+mph winds yesterday. So many of my co-workers and friends have been left in the dark and may not get power back up till Tuesday. We were spared thankfully

Been lucky the last 6 years. but it makes me think I need to get a generator at some point.

Wow, Good to hear Jim! Unfortunate for the others. After losing 150 Nimbochromis fry one year I started the search and found a nice Generac for $100 but it needed some work. I put about $225 into it and it runs beautifully now. I also picked up a June Build 1970 6kw Onan 2 cylinder that runs at 1800rpms and can handle a 200% surge! It's a monster. It weighs about 350lbs. I paid $280 for it with the trade of a set bright orange thermals... I even got a good deal on a Transfer switch and installed that 1.5 yrs ago. THAT was so worth it. Nothing but one 30amp cord and the throw of 6 switches. NO more running cords around the house.

The last thing I picked up was a little device that plugs into a 120vAc outlet in the house and when the power goes out it sounds off with this loud high pitched tone. I choose to place it in my bedroom so if the power goes out in the middle of the night, I'll be woken up and fire up the genny. It even has a little LED flashlight built in. I paid about $12 on Amazon for it.

I learned along time ago with the way the world and weather is these days, serious fish guys need generators on hand as much as metro.
