i have 16 young lufubu in my 120g, im running two, 125 gallon capacity sponge filters with a very high air flow. I fear this isnt enough o2 tho, is there gonna be dead spots in there? the tank is a custom build, so hang over the edge filters arnt an option, should i put in a rotating power head? if sho how strong.......

I would also run a canister filter, being the hang on type power filters you mentioned would not work. As far as powerheads. I would add 2 med size powerheads approx. 400-800 gph one on each end of the tank, in addition to the sponges. The canister will be very helpful with the bio-load as they grow. You can probably get by without one till they get a little bigger. They do no produce that much waste till they put some size on. But I would add the powerheads soon.

No worries with the o2, this exchange happens at the surface of your water. I've seen Hardcore aquarist housing multiple tanks w/ just sponge filters in them. Just keep up with the water changes. thumbsup.gif

The reason, I suggest running a Canister filter with the sponges is, Just in case you Skimp on your water changes, it will not be a major problem. I always over filter my tanks and under populate, Not that I skimp on my water changes, 50% weekly, On a very rare occasion one might not get a water change till mid way through the second week. I have not had many problems resulting to this.
