Congrats on the fry!

These fish have been around for a few years though under various names. I had some back in 2006 under the name Kasumbe Rainbow. Very nice fish but I found them to be VERY aggressive.

Excellent work Thai...I knew you were the right guy to give these fish to. As far as aggressiveness...I think that is all hype. Really just depends on how the tank is setup and stocked. My colony of 13 spit fry at least once a month, but the tank is packed a little full so most fry are eaten. To get just a pair to breed is excellent...was the trick packing them in tight???

Thanks Apex!

I have also read about a lot of bad things about these fish. I guess I just got lucky.

I know you been in the game forevery, can you provide some additional information on the history of importaiton on these fish?

Thanks G,

Seems like I got a nact for building up colonies from small numbers. I have done this with tropheus time and again. This is the first time I got such a small pair of petros to breed.

Still got nothing on you! You breeding those sp. reds. bowdown.gif

Thanks Randell,

I agree with you regarding agression. I have 50 petros in my 375g and I see very little agression

There are alot treats. thumbsup.gif

I think also, a lot of it has to do with proper care of the fish.

If I remember right, Chip was able to bring my group in back in 2006. They were something he hadn't seen before so he snapped them up and let me know about them. Of course, I grabbed them. Part of the problem was I only had 6. I did, however, get them to breed a few times.

As with most Petros, I think the more you have the better your chances. Like I said, they proved to be very nasty. Well for me anyway.
